Traditional Straw/Clay Slip form Construction Workshop:
A one day hands-on demonstration of embedded post & beam straw/clay construction. This is a form of pole barn construction supported with ~6ft spaced 4"x4" posts cast in the center of 8" non load-bearing Bamboo and Kenaf reinforced straw/clay mix that is stabilized with MgO "Eco-cement". TheMgO/Straw/Clay mix is based on an ancient traditional German/Swiss formula. Advantages of the MgO stabilization include: rapid drying time (hours vs. days) stronger cold bonds and "0" shrinkage (0 vs. 10-15% shrinkage for clay only or Portland stabilization)
Bring work gloves and prepare for getting covered with mud!!!!if available, additional wheelbarrows and small concrete mixers would be useful
